Bolshoi Theatre Opera Company soloist Dinara Alieva has won 3rd prize at the annual Operalia World Opera Competition, founded and led by the famous singer and conductor, Placido Domingo.
Natalya Osipova and Ivan Vasiliev have been promoted to the rank of premier dancers, they learnt of this in Peking where, at the present time, they are on tour with the Bolshoi Ballet Company.
The Bolshoi will be on tour in Peking from 24 April to 5 May.
Performances will take place at the National Centre for the Performing Arts Opera Hall which has a seating capacity for 2400. The Centre, which opened in 2007, is a contemporary architecture icon in the Chinese capital.
Romeo and Juliet is one of the most frequently performed plays in the world and that goes for the ballet version too. When it is long absent from the repertoire, both public and performers yearn for it. This spring the Bolshoi is presenting the premiere of Sergei Prokofiev’s famous ballet in a production by Yuri Grigorovich.
The first night performances will run from 21-24 April.
