One-act ballets "Carmen Suite" to music by Georges Bizet and Rodion Shchedrin and "Russian Seasons" to music by Leonid Desyatnikov will be performed on the New Stage of Bolshoi theatre on 8 and 9 November 2016.
The Premiere of Opera "Manon Lescaut" by Giacomo Puccini will take place on the Main Stage of Bolshoi Theatre on 16 October 2016.
Soprano Anna Netrebko and tenor Yusif Eyvazov will perform together in Opera "Manon Lescaut" at the Historical Stage of Bolshoi theatre on 16 October, 19 October and 22 October 2016.
The tour opened on July 25 with Don Quixote – known as the most ‘Muscovite’ of all the classical ballets. It was first produced by Marius Petipa at the Bolshoi in 1869 since when, it has occupied pride of place in the Bolshoi repertoire. Don Quixote is one of the most popular items in the Theatre’s touring programs.
Bolshoi Theatre Opera soloists Olga Kulchinskaya (soprano) and Bogdan Volkov (tenor) carried off two of the prizes at one of the world’s most prestigious singing competitions – the 2016 Operalia.
