A double premiere at the Bolshoi Theatre: the debut of the Bolshoi's chief conductor Tugan Sokhiev and the return of the opera "The Maid of Orleans" by P. Tchaikovsky. This opera was staged at the Bolshoi only once, in 1990; the production was directed by Boris Pokrovsky, and the premiere cast starred Makvala Kasrashvili. Last Friday the main part was performed by the young singer Anna Smirnova.
