Khibla Gerzmava
Soprano
Born on January 6, 1970 in Pitsunda (USSR).
Graduated from the Moscow State Conservatoire in 1994 (teachers - professor Irina Maslennikova, professor Evgenia Arefieva), and completed the post-graduate course of the Moscow Conservatoire in 1996. Since 1995 she has been a soloist of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow academic Music Theater (Stanislavsky Opera).
Took part in the performances of the Mariinsky Theater, «Theatre des Champs Elysees» and «Theatre du Chatelet» in Paris (France), Teatro Comunale di Firenze (Italy), Gran Teatro del Liceu in Barcelona (Spain), Opera of Sofia (Bulgaria), Tokyo Bunka Kaikan (Japan).
Parts performed in the productions of the Stanislavsky Opera: Ludmila («Ruslan and Ludmila» by M. Glinka), The Swan («The Tale of Tsar Saltan» by N. Rimsky-Korsakov), Queen of Shemakha («The Golden Cockerel» by Rimsky-Korsakov), Louise («Wedding in the Monastery» by S. Prokofiev), Nymph («Daphne» by M. da Gagliano), Rosina («Il Barbiere di Siviglia» by G. Rossini), Adina («L‘Elisir d‘Amore» by G. Donizetti), Violetta («La Traviata» by G. Verdi), Musetta and Mimi («La Boheme» by G. Puccini), Adele («Die Fledermaus» by I. Strauss). Parts performed in Europe also include: Lucia («Lucia di Lammermoor» by Donizetti), Zerlina («Don Giovanni» by Mozart), Parasha («Mavra» by I. Stravinsky).
Took part in the international tours of the Stanislavsky Opera (South Korea, 1997 and 2003; USA, 2002, 2004). Toured Sweden, France, Holland, Austria, Belgium, Spain, Greece, USA, Japan, Turkey. Participated in the Ludwigsburg Festival in 2002 and 2003 (sang the part of Eva in «Die Schopfung» by I. Hayden and the part of Angel in «La Rappresentazione di Anima e di Corpo» by E. dei Cavalieri).
Patronized the Classical Music Festival «Khibla Gerzmava invites» in Pitsunda (Abkhasia). The prize-winner of the International Competition «Voci Verdiani» in Busseto (Italy, 1993), the International Francisco Vinas Competition in Barcelona (Spain, 1994), the International N. Rimsky-Korsakov Competition in Saint-Petersburg (1994).
