Born in Tbilisi. In 1993, having completed his training at the Moscow College of Choreography (today the Moscow Academy of Choreography; Igor Uksusnikov’s class), he joined the Bolshoi Theatre Company. At the present time, his teacher-repetiteur is Boris Akimov.

In 2006, was awarded the Golden Mask National Theatre prize for his performance of the part of Philostrat (Puck) in A Midnight’s Summer Dream (season 2004/05).
