Born: 1972 - Berlin, Germany


The German conductor, Ralf Sochaczewsky, studied in Berlin, first school music at Hochschule der Künste Berlin, and received his first conducting instruction with Christian Grube and Marc Piollet. Since 1997 he has studied at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler“ choir directing with Professor Achim Zimmermann and since 2001 with Professor Jörg Peter Weigle, as well as orchestra conducting with Professor Rolf Reuter. He has also participated in master-classes of Eric Ericson and Helmuth Rilling.

Since 1996 Ralf Sochaczewsky leads the Cantus Domus-Chor, since 1997 the Ensemble Vocal de Bardou and since 1998 the Ensemberlino Vocale. In the years 1998 and 1999 he replaced Christian Grube in the directing of the Staats- und Domchor Berlin. As a choir director he has also worked with the RIAS-Kammerchor, as well as the Shanghai Opera Choir. He belongs to the conductor forum of the Deutschen Musikrates. In the season 2003-2004 he was an assistant conductor at the Nederlands Radio Koor. In resecent seasons he has made rehearsals with RIAS-Kammerchor, the Rundfunkchor Berlin and the Nederlands Radio Koor.
