The 13 International Ballet Festival "Dance Open" closed in Saint Petersburg The Bolshoi Theatre dancers Kristina Kretova and Semyon Chudin were awarded the prizes "Mr and Ms Virtuoso". It was for them that Vassily Medvedev choreographed the piece "Grand Pas de Deux "Electric" from the lost ballet "Bluebeard" by Marius Petipa to the music by Peter Schenk (1896). The finale of the ballet has nothing to do with misfortunes of the Duke Bluebeard's wives. This is pas de deux of Izora and Arthur who were reunited and married after numerous peripeteias. The sketch of the set for the ballet finale has been kept at the museum. At their wedding the heroes are greeted by geniuses from the past, present and future, which in the end of the 19th century was associated with electricity. Kretova performed the devious elaborate fouettes and was awarded with a round of applause. Chudin demonstrated his huge jumps and pirouettes. /…/Five questions for Artem Ovcharenko The Bolshoi Theatre's premier "fills in" our questionnaire Artem Ovcharenko/photo Dmitry Konstantinov

Besides, I am an extrovert: I have not been afraid of the audience since my childhood, I do not feel shy when I perform for other people. Today I cannot live without the stage; even when I have spare time, I like to sing in karaoke for my friends. Therefore, if I had not chosen ballet, I would have chosen something similar; perhaps, I would have become a film actor. - I have always liked dogs, and big dogs! St. Bernard dogs, Moscow Watchdogs, Central Asian shepherd dogs - those huge dogs were my friends in my childhood. But today given my touring schedule I cannot afford having such a friend.
- Tours are a big bonus of my job. It turned out that people love Russian ballet and want to see it in the most exotic parts of the world. In Vietnam, Bahrain and Brazil people are happy to see us. Of course, our schedule is busy and there is not much time to have a rest or go on excursions, but I always find some time to swim in the May, 72014On the Bolshoi Theatre official pages in the social networks we published the following article: Masterpieces of Russian Music. Newswire Agence France reports the death of Russian actress Tatyana Samoilova, a Soviet-era movie star who AFP says studied ballet and was invited to join the Bolshoi Theatre but she preferred to become an actress. The organizers of summer organ concerts in Kuskovo celebrate the first anniversary of the project, first initiated by the organist Elena Privalova-Epstein five years ago. The concerts will take place from May 24 to August 23. The unique feature of the festival that has ensured its success over all these years is the combination of the homely atmosphere of the organ concerts (which are the summer alternative to "December concerts", organized at the Pushkin museum) and artistic absolutism of the program. Oxana Lesnichaya (soprano), the Bolshoi Theatre's soloist, will participate in vocal concerts. In brief
